Covid-19 advisory
The Royal Government of Cambodia has officially decided to waive travel requirements for all travelers entering Cambodia as follows:
1) Waiving the requirement for COVID-19 PCR Test certificate 72 hours prior to your arrival to in Cambodia.
2) Waiving the requirement for rapid test on arrival at the airport, land border and seaport to in Cambodia.
3) Reopening the Visa-on- Arrival service for all international travelers by air, land and sea.
Upon the arrivals all tourism stakeholders, national and international tourists, and travelers must present vaccinated cards recognized by their respective health authorities. For those, who have not been vaccinated, are still eligible to request/apply for Visa on Arrival; subject to 14-day state quarantine at the locations designated by the Ministry of Health or respective/local authorities.
Language
Khmer is having influences from Sanskrit and Pali. This language has been widely spread all over the Khmer empire and used pre-Angkor era. Khmer language divides its history into four periods (The Old Khmer period, is subdivided into pre-Angkorian and Angkorian). Pre-Khmer before 600BC, Pre-Angkorian Old Khmer 600-800, Angkorian Old Khmer 800 to mid-14thcentury, Middle Khmer Mid-14th century to 18th century, and Modern Khmer 1800-Present.

Weather
The average temperatures range from 24°C in the cooler months of Oct, Nov & Dec to 35°C at the hottest time of the year from March until June.
Rainy season known as monsoon. It begins in May till in October.
Dry season begins in November till April.
Months with the highest relative humidity are September and October (84%). Months with the lowest relative humidity are February and March (71%).

Due the ease of the weather and the greenery after the rainy season. Make it as very pleasant season to travel. Number of people from different part of the world visiting Cambodia during this time of the year.
Low Season
May to October
Rainy season known as monsoon. It begins within this period of the year. This is also an off season. Because some travelers find it as an unpleasant travel period due to the rain. But it a welcoming time frame for farmers who are waiting for their crop to grow.
Currency
'Riel' is an national currency in Cambodia. However,Riel and USD are the common currencies accepted everywhere.
The riel was at first subdivided into 100 centimes (abbreviated to cent. on the coins) but this changed in 1959 to 100 sen. For the first few years, the riel and piastre circulated alongside each other. The first riel banknotes were also denominated in piastres.

People
Cambodian is also known as Khmer. Traditionally Khmer people are likely to live in rural villages since the majority are either as farmer or fishermen and those who live in the touristic area make a living by providing goods and services to the tourist in the country.
Majority of Khmer people who live in the city or touristic area are able communicate in English and other languages. Smiling and waving are very common which you make feel a very warm welcome. You can always seek for any assistance by asking them directly and they more then happy to help you.
